A chocolate advent calendar with open doors, fairy lights and pine sprigs

A chocolate advent calendar door is 11 to 66 calories, by the brands' own nutrition labels. The classic Cadbury 90g calendar is about 20 calories a door (83 kJ), a Lindt LINDOR door is about 27, and the big Cadbury Santa's Workshop is about 66. A whole calendar ranges from 258 to 1,577 calories across 24 days.

Short version: it's one door a day, enjoy it. Most doors are smaller than a single fun size Snickers (80 calories, from our Halloween candy calories chart). This post just tells you the number so you never have to guess.

How many calories are in a chocolate advent calendar?

Here is every calendar we could verify, ranked from the lightest whole box to the heaviest. Australian labels list energy in kilojoules, so both are shown (kcal = kJ divided by 4.184).

Calendar Where it's sold Whole calendar Per door Sugar per door
Park Avenue kids calendars (Moana, Minions, Avengers), 50g AU (Woolworths) 258 cal (1,080 kJ) 11 cal (45 kJ) 1.2g
Cadbury Christmas Advent Calendar, 90g AU 476 cal (1,992 kJ) 20 cal (83 kJ) 2.1g
Lindt LINDOR Advent Calendar, 109g AU 660 cal (2,760 kJ) 27 cal (115 kJ) 2.0g
Lindt TEDDY Bear Advent Calendar, 4.5 oz US about 720 cal about 30 cal about 2.8g
Lindt TEDDY Advent Calendar, 170g AU 987 cal (4,131 kJ) 41 cal (172 kJ) 3.5g
Lindt Sweater TEDDY Advent Calendar, 7.2 oz US about 1,120 cal about 47 cal about 4.1g
Cadbury Heroes Advent Calendar, 230g UK 1,187 cal 49 cal 5.1g
Cadbury Dairy Milk Lotus Biscoff Chunk Advent Calendar, 236g UK 1,277 cal 53 cal 5.2g
Lindt TEDDY Sleigh Advent Calendar, 9.3 oz US about 1,440 cal about 60 cal about 5.3g
Cadbury Santa's Workshop 3D Advent Calendar, 312g AU 1,577 cal (6,600 kJ) 66 cal (275 kJ) 7.5g

How we got these numbers:

Which advent calendar has the fewest calories per door?

The kids' calendars win: a Park Avenue door is a 2.08g chocolate at 45 kJ, or about 11 calories. Next lightest is the classic Cadbury 90g calendar at 20 calories (83 kJ) a door, then Lindt LINDOR at 27 (115 kJ).

The heaviest door is the Cadbury Santa's Workshop at 66 calories (275 kJ), because each window holds a 13g wrapped chocolate rather than a small flat shape. That is still less than one fun size Snickers.

So the whole spread, lightest door to heaviest, is about 55 calories. Pick the calendar you'll actually look forward to opening.

Lindt advent calendar calories

Lindt is the most searched brand, and it makes the widest range, so here it is in one place:

Lindt calendar Whole calendar Per door Label serving
LINDOR Advent Calendar 109g (AU) 660 cal (2,760 kJ) 27 cal (115 kJ) 1 truffle, 4.5g
TEDDY Bear Advent Calendar 4.5 oz (US) about 720 cal about 30 cal 5 pieces, 180 cal
TEDDY Advent Calendar 170g (AU) 987 cal (4,131 kJ) 41 cal (172 kJ) 9.5g, 230 kJ
Sweater TEDDY Advent Calendar 7.2 oz (US) about 1,120 cal about 47 cal 4 pieces, 160 cal
TEDDY Sleigh Advent Calendar 9.3 oz (US) about 1,440 cal about 60 cal 3 pieces (32g), 180 cal

A LINDOR mini truffle is the lightest Lindt door at 27 calories. The TEDDY calendars get heavier as the box gets bigger, because the extra weight is extra chocolate, not extra doors. The Sleigh holds about twice the chocolate of the 4.5 oz TEDDY, still across one December.

Cadbury advent calendar calories

Cadbury calendar Whole calendar Per door Sugar per door
Christmas Advent Calendar 90g (AU) 476 cal (1,992 kJ) 20 cal (83 kJ) 2.1g
Heroes Advent Calendar 230g (UK) 1,187 cal 49 cal 5.1g
Dairy Milk Lotus Biscoff Chunk 236g (UK) 1,277 cal 53 cal 5.2g
Santa's Workshop 3D Advent Calendar 312g (AU) 1,577 cal (6,600 kJ) 66 cal (275 kJ) 7.5g

The Cadbury 90g is the classic flat calendar most of us grew up with, and each door is a 3.7g milk chocolate shape. Santa's Workshop is more than three times the chocolate, and you can taste the difference.

If you came here for the Biscoff calendar: that's the Cadbury Dairy Milk with Lotus Biscoff chunk calendar, at 541 calories per 100g on Cadbury's label, or about 53 calories a day.

What does a whole advent calendar add up to?

Spread over 24 days, the numbers stay small. Here is what each calendar averages out to per day, next to things you already know:

Even the biggest calendar here is 1,577 calories across 24 days. For context, our Christmas dinner calories guide puts a classic Christmas dinner plate at about 1,582 calories, roughly the same as that entire calendar, eaten in one evening. The calendar is not where December goes sideways.

What if you eat a few doors at once?

It happens. Somebody misses Monday through Wednesday, then opens four on Thursday. Here's what that looks like on the labels:

Catch-up day Calories
4 Cadbury 90g doors 79 (332 kJ)
4 Lindt LINDOR doors 110 (460 kJ)
4 Lindt TEDDY 170g doors 164 (688 kJ)
4 Cadbury Santa's Workshop doors 263 (1,100 kJ)

Four LINDOR truffles at once is 110 calories, the same as one snack size Reese's cup on its label. No drama needed.

And if the whole calendar gets demolished on December 2? That's a story for the family group chat, not a crisis. One day is one day. Our overate calculator shows how small a single big day looks across a week, and how to not gain weight during the holidays covers the season as a whole.

Advent calendars we left out (and why)

We only used numbers from the brand's own product page or a retailer page reproducing the official nutrition panel. These popular calendars did not have one we could verify on October 25, 2026, so they are not in the ranking:

If you have one of these, the panel is on the back of the box. Grams per serving times calories per gram gets you there, or just tell Nouri which calendar it is.

How to track an advent calendar door in Nouri

An advent calendar is the easiest thing in December to track, because you know exactly what you ate. When I used MyFitnessPal, the numbers were fine. The problem was that a normal dinner took several minutes to add, so on busy days I skipped it. A single chocolate should not need a search bar.

In Nouri you just type it: "one Lindor truffle from my advent calendar." Calories and macros come back right away, with the reasoning shown for each item, so you can see it counted one mini truffle. If it was two because you forgot yesterday, add "two" and it recalculates.

There are four equal ways to get there: type it, say it, snap a photo, or ask Siri. A photo of the open door works too. Nouri turns the picture into a sentence first, so you can fix "milk chocolate star" to "Lindt TEDDY" before anything is counted. Morning rush with the kids? From the lock screen, "Hey Siri, track food in Nouri" and one sentence does it, and the card shows what's left for the day. It's the best Siri tracking of any calorie tracking app for exactly that reason. Nouri is iPhone (iOS only), and you can try it free. For more on choosing a method, see text vs voice vs photo calorie tracking.

Should you count advent calendar calories at all?

Only if it's useful to you. For most people the honest answer is: one door a day is small enough to enjoy without a second thought. Counting it is less about the chocolate and more about seeing your real December, so the number on Sunday makes sense.

That's where a weekly view helps. The Nouri Report arrives Sunday evening when you've tracked 4 or more days. It sets your average calories and macros against your targets and gives you one clear focus for the week ahead. A 20-calorie door barely shows up there. The office party might. Most calorie apps give you numbers. Nouri gives you answers.

If you are working toward a goal through the holidays, the goal weight date calculator shows how the math works with a small, kind deficit. And if food and numbers have ever felt stressful, please skip the counting and lean on a doctor or registered dietitian instead. The chocolate is supposed to be fun.
